I use ctrl+F daily in the webapp to find key words in a long list or even in a description.
Hi @Beah, welcome to the Asana Community Forum ![]()
Thanks for taking the time to provide this feedback - I can certainly see how this would be a useful addition!
Hopefully this is something out Product team can implement in the future. I’ll let you know here if we have any updates ![]()
There’s one reason why I prefer to keep using Asana in the Chrome browser.
I like to be able to quickly hit Ctrl+F to use the browser search so I can search the first few letters of my calendar view (my main view) for something like “tom” so it highlights the task in my calendar and then I can click it to read the details.
Without that ability I find it hard to get any proper use out of the desktop app at the moment. I don’t want to use the search in the top right and then be taken to another page, I want to remain on my calendar view.
Thought I’d share this piece of feedback so it can be considered. I appreciate people have varying workflows with Asana but this is critical to mine.
Hi @David_Alexander, thanks for providing this feedback ![]()
We do have an existing thread for this request in the #productfeedback already so I’ve gone ahead and merged the posts to consolidate feedback.
Hopefully this is something our Product team can implement in the near future
I’ll keep you updated!
Any update here CTRL+F is needed
1 year later and this still hasn’t been deployed?
Share with your co-workers so they up-vote this. I just downloaded the Desktop App but will surely be going back to in-browser because of how often I need to use command+F
Also very much wish for this!
Hey! Are there any plans to implement this? Would make the Desktop App a lot more usable ![]()
For what its worth, this is the single thing that prevents me from adopting the desktop app. I used it for a while, but constantly had to open the browser and find the issue so that I could search for a term.
Please, please, please add a Ctrl+F function!
This would be so helpful for searching through longer SOPs. A key to efficiency in work.
@Forum-team – Hi there! Just wanted to bring this request back into focus because it could be a great addition to the desktop app and encourage more folks to use it instead of the browser. With the new “Notes” tab, this feature would be even more helpful for quickly searching through text. I’m hoping it’s not too complicated to implement and that we might see it soon. Thanks for considering!
Thank you very much for your input! As mentioned in this post, we actively collect and review customer feedback through various channels, including the Community Forum, to help shape product improvements. This is why we encourage the community to upvote requests in the Product Feedback section, as votes help the team gauge interest.
While we can’t guarantee a timeline, the team regularly reviews suggestions when planning future updates. If a suggestion is selected for development, we always make sure to give the community a heads-up.
Wanted to plus one this request! I’m trying to get my team in the habit of using Asana for note taking because of the feature to make tasks right off notes. A lack of this feature is certainly a huge hurdle with change management, as my team often has quite hefty notes to sift through.
Would love CMD F to just search what is on screen like in a browser. Move asana search back to the same hotkey as the web app (Tab \). Been wanting this for 6 years since Asana desktop app launch. Make it happen Asana product/dev teams!
