Add between for date range filter in reporting/dashboards

Thanks to this post I just noticed that dashboards and reporting can only filter for “within the last” and “within the next”.

It would be great if you could filter by a Between date range, just like in Advanced Search. A use-case for this is generating monthly or quarterly reports.

As a larger piece of product feedback, I really wish all of the tools being released were self-consistent or would move towards self-consistency. There are subtle differences between how the new Reporting filters work compared to Dashboards within a project which both have differences to how Advanced Search works. It’s impossible to keep these differences straight when they look and feel so similar. The lack of a between filter is a perfect example and is something I had assumed was there.

Is the date range filter going to happen soon? I am required to provide projected and completed hours to our audit team and it remains impossible to do. It’s perplexing as to why this is still not resolved as many have inquired about it.

Yes, please! Here’s my use case: I want to do year-to-date reporting. I’d like to have a Number Chart that counts only tasks within current calendar year. All I can do now is “In the past 12 months” but that isn’t useful for the reporting I need. I suppose I could hack this with a Custom Field, but that seems silly given the year a task is completed is clearly exposed in Asana.

@Therese_Ewing @Dave_McFarland1 while we wait for Asana to improve their date range filter, I just wanted to let you know that the Analytics & Reports add-on by Screenful makes it easy to set up weekly/monthly/quarterly reports and have them automatically delivered to the right stakeholders. Here’s an example report delivered to the email:
