Accidentally used premium features during free trial, now locked out of my project

:light_bulb: Is there any way at all to access my information TODAY? I can’t wait days or weeks for the sales team to get back to me to extend my free trial, and I honestly don’t remember using premium features or custom fields. I don’t even know how to do that. This feels like a deceptive business practice to force people to pay. I’m filing a complaint with the BBB or FTC unless this is resolved TODAY. Hopefully, someone from Asana sees this. You could just remove the premium features from the project instead of holding the entire project hostage.

Hi @Candace_Marra_Writer I understand your frustration welcome to the Asana community I hope I can be of some assistance to you. As a sole free Asana user that I use personally I find certain using Asana to be very intrusive while Asana can be used a free product the paid features are still visible- to me I’d rather not see none of the features I’m not using.

Anyways! Back to the real issue :smiling_face_with_tear: if the sales team isn’t an option have you tried the following:

Downgrade your plan and export the tasks and projects to a csv tasks. Would this be an option for you?

Hi Leva_M, and thank you for your help. Yes, I see how to do this. But what can I do with it as a csv file? Is there a way to import it into a new project under the same name with the tasks listed and separated the same way, without the custom fields? It would take hours to manually enter everything in again. Plus I have files I had uploaded. I’m not going to be able to access these through the CSV file.

Yes, thats exactly what you would do, and can do.
Import using quick add button.gif

I can’t speak on the files uploaded as being able to export data from a project in its entirety requires you to be a particular tier.

I would also check if you have limited the access to certain projects to only be viewed by project members. When I was using a trial when I only really care about using it as barebones as possible, I realized projects that I only wanted to be seen by myself and myself only after my trial expired, I had no access to it at all. Changing the permissions of that project and allowing it to be open to all members allowed me back in.

It’s can become very confusing. Hope this helps clears up some of the confusion & headache.

Thank you so much for all of your help. I was able to upload it and save my primary information. I’ll have to re-upload the files, but that isn’t really a big deal compared to everything else.
