Ability to track the entire "date range" in Dashboards

I have helped many people set up various trackers in Asana, where a task represents an ongoing item. For example, the campaign begins on January 1 and concludes on March 31. And there are 100 (or more) other tasks with their own respective date range.

We want the ability to be able to answer the question, “How many campaigns are actively going on in the month of February?”

Currently with Asana dashboards, there is no way to get this, as the date filters & functionality is just on the due date, completion date, or creation date, and not checking any dates within the date range. (Unless I’m missing something here?? Feel free to help me out folks).

Having this ability both at the task level date range and the project level date range (in portfolios) would be immensely helpful for reporting!

I agree, this feature is quite necessary. In the system we built with Google Workspace apps, we solved this problem by adding a Date Picker to our dashboard in Looker Studio. We also achieved the same dynamism with the Assignee Filter. Metrics related to whoever was selected as the Assignee changed dynamically. Asana Dashboard, in its current state, is quite primitive for a data-driven business.
