My client raised the issue regarding how the dependencies are displayed on mobile app (iPhone). I tested it and I see the same issue on Android.
I have multiple tasks that are blocked now as dependent on other tasks assigned to the team. Some of them are marked as milestones or approvals.
When I log to Asana on my laptop I see the dependency icon on the left site of the task name instead of the task name. This allows me focus on the tasks that are not blocked. And it is desired approach.
When I log into Asana on mobile app I cannot see dependency icon, I see task type on the left side. Is it bug? If not, what can I do to have dependencies visible in mobile app?
Hello @AnnaPapiernik,
I have just tested this on mobile (iOS) and I cannot reproduce the issue.
I have checked various scenarios:
- normal dependent task
this is how it shows in list view

-
dependent task marked as approal
-
dependent task marked as milestone
Can you maybe share a screenshot of how it looks on your end?
Also here is a feedback request thread that might be interesting for you.
Oh I think I see now what you mean.
In list view for dependent tasks marked as milestones the milestone icon shows and no longer the dependency icon
Not sure if that is a bug though or supposed to be like it since only 1 icon can be displayed in list.
Hi @AnnaPapiernik and @Andrea_Mayer, thank you so much for testing this! I also believe this is expected and that the app cannot show both icons at once, but I’ve reached out to our developers asking for a confirmation. I’ll get back to you as soon as I hear back from them

@Andrea_Mayer @Vanessa_N Thank you very much for your prompt response.
In my opinion it is not the case that online or in desktop app there is more space to have both (task type and dependiencies). In fact in both places there is only one - dependency related icon.
I believe that this information should be consistent between different Asana applications.
Hi @AnnaPapiernik, our developers have confirmed that this is not a bug, but the current behavior on the mobile app. Apologies for any inconvenience. They’ve made a note of your feedback and I hope this can be improved in a future update. I’m moving your topic to our Product Feedback section so that other users can also vote on this feature request
