A new account (same email) overwrote my existing account?

I cleared out cookies and site data and cached images and files (Chrome) and was logged out of Asana.

I didn’t have the password so I reset the password but also when logging in, it was like I was creating an account. When I sign in using Google Account or email, I’m brought to the “new” account.

I attached a screenshot of my email. You can see that I’ve been paying for Asana with Google account/ email since 2024 and beyond. You can also see (circled) the emails saying welcome to Asana from today. How do I get my original account back and I have no way to access my billing if it now possible.

Interesting though that I use the software “Tacking Time” and it shows my projects from my original paid account.

I tried using the chatbot for support but I keep getting this error message after unsuccessful login. “We can’t log you in because of an authentication error.”

You can’t go back and edit? I use the software “Tracking Time.”

Hi @Erin_Pietrak, welcome to the Asana Forum and sorry to hear about this trouble. Do you happen to have more than one Gmail email address? For example a personal Gmail and a corporate Gmail?

It sounds like you might have created a brand new Asana account with a different email address, but that your previous account still exists. Can you please click your profile photo in Asana and check which email address is shown? If you see an email address other than your original one, please kindly log out and then login again making sure you are using the previous email address. To avoid cache & cookies automatically signing you in to the incorrect account, I’d recommend using an incognito window.

This email issue can also be the reason why the login to our Help Center is failing. If the tips above don’t help solve the problem, please use an incognito window to log into our Help Center and get in touch with our Support team. We don’t have access to account details to assist you directly here in the Forum, but Support will be able to look into this further for you.

I hope this helps!
