Zapier vs. Automate.io

Hi,

I just started using Asana, and I want to sync my Google Calendar and Asana so that tasks with a due date and time show up as events on my calendar.

It looks like Zapier and Automate.io are good for doing this. Does anyone have an opinion about which is better?

Hello @anon71351825,

here is the link for the direct connection.

For a real time two way sync have a look at this existing product feedback request: Real time, two ways Calendar integration

In terms of zapier vs integromat I have used both before for various integrations, however not google calendar so won‘t be able to comment on this specifically. But have a look at the thread shared above as some users have shared their experience.

I hope that helps

Hi,

To my knowledge, zzBots and ProjectBuddy are two good solutions for this use case. I wouldn’t try to recode them myself using automation solutions.

Interesting topic.
I used to love Automate.io until recently.
Then I received this news.
https://automate.io/blog/closing-down-automate-io/

I have nothing more to say.
Have a good weekend.

Thanks Bastien. I looked at zzBots, and it looks pretty good. I will check out ProjectBuddy. Thanks.

Hi hagi. Thanks!

Oh wow - thanks for this info.

@Bastien_Siebman , you should probably remove the Automate.io column from your Bible: The Asana automation bible: all the triggers and actions from Asana, Zapier, Flowsana, Make.com

If you achieve two way sync Asana - Gcal please share how.

@Phil_Seeman Thanks for the heads up. That information saves me some time.

@Bastien_Siebman I tried the Asana premium 2-way sync with Google Calendar using zzBots. I like the easy setup, and the free plan is not too bad if you do not do a lot of synching.

However, if you delete or complete an Asana task, there is no corresponding action in Google Calendar. Also, when you add a Google Calendar event, it is synched over to Asana without an assignee. This is a problem if you use the Asana My Tasks since a task does not appear unless it is assigned to you.

Overall, I like ProjectBuddy better. It also has automatic 2-way synch that is almost instantaneous (vs. ten min. syncs for zzBots) and has delete/complete synchronization. I’m having problems getting the times to synch, but I’m working with ProjectBuddy to see if I’m doing something wrong. If I can get the times to synch, I will probably go with ProjectBuddy.

@Enric_Moreno See my reply to @Bastien_Siebman. ProjectBuddy looks promising, but I have to work through the problem of synchronizing times between Asana and Google Calendar.
