Hello Asana enthusiasts
I’m Arthur, and I joined the Forum Leaders 2 years ago.
I’m definitely not the oldest or most active leader, but I really enjoy being part of it.
Here’s what I’ve learned along the way - and why you might want to join us.
My top 5 Perks of Being a Forum Leader
Let’s be honest: there’s no paycheck for being a Forum Leader.
But here’s what you do get — and it’s more powerful than it looks.
1. Forum-Famous
You get a nice badge. People start recognizing your name. You gain trust and credibility. You don’t need to be a productivity guru — but when people thank you publicly for your help, it feels great.
2. Early Access and impact on the roadmap
Asana shares early previews with Leaders. You sometimes test features before they launch. You can give feedback that actually influences the product. And that’s for real — I’ve seen things change because of what we shared.
3. A Private “Lounge”
There’s a space on the forum just for Leaders, and it is fun.
We trade tips, laugh about weird bugs, celebrate each other, and sometimes get a bit nerdy.
4. Great people
You meet incredible minds — from all around the world.
They’re smart, experienced, and above all, genuinely kind.
5. Real Rewards
Every quarter, there’s a dedicated recognition program for Forum Leaders, and you can be rewarded to write exclusive articles (like this one).
What do you get?
Swag (some of my favorite socks and a few seriously cool tees came from this role!)
Gift vouchers (Amazon, etc.) — which are always a nice surprise.
It’s a small bonus, but it makes a big difference. And hey, free socks are a valid life goal.
A Meme
That One Time on the Forum When…
One of my favorite moments as a Forum Leader?
When Asana launched Workflow Bundles, I didn’t just get early access to test the feature — I got to prepare and host a full 30-minute launch webinar to introduce it to the community.
With support from the forum and product teams, I shared a live deep dive, answered questions, and helped users understand how to apply it to their workflows.
That kind of trust and visibility? It felt amazing.
It wasn’t just “here’s a cool new feature.” It was:
“Here’s something powerful — and we trust you to help launch it.”
For me, that’s what being a Forum Leader is all about: growing alongside the product, and bringing the community with you.
Finding Your Own Forum Leader Superpower
One of the coolest things about being a Forum Leader?
You don’t need to fit a mold — you get to find your own genre.
Some of us jump in early on new feature launches. Others dig deep into advanced setups, edge cases, or undocumented limits. And some are just always there — active across every category, answering all kinds of questions, just to help others move forward.
Everyone has their own style. And that’s what makes the Forum Leader team so special.
Just a few examples:
- Take @lpb, for example — he’s an absolute machine. Always present, always helpful, jumping in on dozens of threads every week across every topic imaginable. If you’ve posted a question, there’s a good chance Larry already helped you.
- And then there’s @Phil_Seeman, the workflow automation wizard. If it involves triggers, rules, or creative workarounds, he’s probably already built it, tested it, and explained it.
- Then there’s also @Richard_Sather, our go-to expert when it comes to technical limits. He created the reference post on Asana functional limitations — so well-known that whenever someone hits a weird wall in Asana, we just say: “Check Richard’s list.”
- And of course @Bastien_Siebman, the Asana final boss. No need to introduce him if you’ve spent 3 minutes on the forum.
- Myself (@Arthur_BEGOU), for example, I recently got involved in everything related to AI Studio — testing early features, sharing feedback, and helping the community figure out how to use AI in real workflows. And I love it.
- And about 20 other superheroes…
The point is: you don’t have to be “the best.”
You just have to bring your perspective, your curiosity, and your way of helping — whatever that looks like.
We all have our thing. You’ll find yours!
Final Thought, why You Should Join Us
If you’re already active in the forum, answering questions or sharing your own setups — you’re halfway there.
You don’t need to be perfect.
You just need to show up with curiosity, empathy, and a desire to help people make work… work better.
I became a Forum Leader because helping others on the forum felt right — and being a Forum Leader made that impact even stronger.
If you’re reading this and thinking,
“That could be me” — it probably already is!
Come join us. We’d love to have you.
