Why has this feature still not been implemented!? With the calendars being tied to the Due Date field, you also get calendar events that are greyed out after the task is marked complete. You could choose to leave it incomplete but no one likes that! The due date turns red and it looks like you didn’t get the job done. I’m sorry to say it, but Monday.com still wins in my book when it comes to calendar management (and external calendar sharing).

This is a MUST for “date” custom fields across all Asana functionality! We also need to be able to filter / sort / use advanced search based on any custom field - that’s the whole purpose of a custom field.

It’s nearly 2026 and this is still very much needed! My team is FINALLY joining me on asana, but we’re experiencing tons of friction with collaboration. Asana’s best trait is the ability to see the same tasks in different views/configurations that make sense to each person on the team. My manager’s calendar view serves one purpose, but as a designer, the calendar view is where I stack and restack my work week each day. Please oh please Asana gods! Ease our suffering and allow us to config a calendar view that displays tasks by custom field dates. Working around this is literally making me feel ill

Right now, I only see a way to create a calendar based on the due date of a task in my project. I’d love to be able to use one of my custom date fields (like requested due date or start date) as the date on a calendar tab of my project.
I’m using a custom “publication date” for an editorial calendar and want to see that on the calendar but all I see are 50+ tasks without a date.
I see that I can customize the name, icon, weekends, color, and multi-day tasks, as well as filters, but I can’t customize the date field my calendar is referencing.

We just transferred to asana and while setting up project I quickly discovered the biggest pain point: not being able to config the calendar / time line view by custom field date? I can’t believe this isn’t a standard and tht ppl have been requesting this since 2022??
We have so many use cases for this…

I hear you! Two days until 2026 and this feature is still at the top of my wishlist. I wished for this a ton as a single user, but now our whole team is working on the platform together and I wish for this daily
