Untitled section duplicated due to different language

My team is mostly French, but we use English as our daily language since we are working with companies worldwide, so half of us have their computers set up in French and the other half in English. This result in Asana being rendered in two different languages depending on our users.

This leads to this situation where a user creating a new task is assigned to two sections with two different names “Untilted section” and “Section sans nom” (litteral translatinon).

This section should be the same for everyone and not duplicated, in this screenshot my computer is using English and I see the two sections when I should have only one named “untilted”.

Hi @Nicolas_Clément, thanks for reaching out! I tried to test this by setting my Asana to Spanish but the sections don’t look duplicated.

@Bastien_Siebman @Arthur_BEGOU @Julien_RENAUD @Kelsea_Lopez I guess you also work in Asana between French and English, is this something you have encountered before?

Hi @Nicolas_Clément

With my colleagues (mentioned by Emily), we are a team of French-speaking Asana consultants
And we definitely also play with multiple languages.

I think, in your case, it’s related to a known small Bug with Untitled sections happening after project creation or in some other cases (described here: Remove untitled section in Board view - #16 by Emily_Roman). It could be that having multiple languages would create 2 different sections.
When that happens, what we generally do, is just remove the Untitled section (from the Board view) and replace it with “real” sections.
Or in some cases, if you use a rule, it can also “send” the task in the Untitled section.

In your case
I would remove the 2 untitled sections, and replaced them with “real section”; then users won’t have choice to create their tasks in “real” sections.
I would also review the project rules to make sure they don’t impact that behavior.
:warning: And if you use a form in this project, you can choose to which section are going the form submissions (tasks); in the form settings (that could also be the reason).

Feel free to share more of your project if needed (with blurred information); as I don’t have the full picture here, my suggestions are limited.

All the best,

Arthur
