Toggling a chart to "Report on Projects" should keep the initial chart style

In a dashboard, if you pick a chart style (e.g. Number) and then change what you report on (e.g. Projects instead of Tasks), then the Chart Style goes back to “Bar”.

What my client thought: we can’t report on Projects with a Number chart. And I agree with them, it is bad UX that a change to a second field impacts the first field…

I agree; this should be improved.

I’m guessing it was basically a shortcut chosen by the designers, perhaps as a result of some constraint.

I think they would recognize that it’s sub-par to handle it this way and they would be in the best position to design a better solution.
