Switching from Boards to List View (and vice versa)

Actually not being rolled out to existing users yet - Asana reports that’s currently planned to start in mid to late July.

For new users just creating a new account, half of them are getting the new design (that’s what Bastien is referring to).

Thanks for the clarification Phil you are completely right

If you have the feature, how do you know you have it? Where is it in the menu? Thanks Bastien.

At the top of a project, you will have two tabs ā€œListā€ & ā€œBoardā€, and then the usual tabs.

Is there any news on when this will be completed ? I vaguely remember seeing information about it in a newsletter but now can’t find it.

This topic has been kicking around since '17 so would be great to see some progress.

For me, may main requirement is being able to multi-select tasks to make bulk changes. This is very tedious in board view!

It’s actively happening right now - they are converting a batch of workspaces each day. I haven’t seen any update on how long they think it will take but I believe it’ll be a few months before it’s done - after all, they have literally millions of users, so imagine how many workspaces! So your data could be converted literally today, or in a few weeks/months; we’ll all have to have a little patience but at least it’s finally here.

Thanks for the update. Anyway the team can prioritize this update for those who have commented on / requested this feature in this thread?

@Marie just checking if I can register (somewhere?) to receive an alert when the switching of views is complete?

I would like to create a new account and although I read that 1/2 of the new accounts get the board <—> list features, I tried with 4 different domains and they all did not have this feature. I only have a few default tasks in each–so before I get this setup, I want to test that this will work before switching from Trello for my team. @Marie do you know if this is possible?

Hi. How do we know if we have this feature or not? Where are we supposed to see it?

Hi @Patrick_Esmonde!

Asana is rolling out this feature gradually! That might be the reason why you are not having this feature yet. But I can asure you that once this is completely rolled out, all projects will have the ability to be viewed both as a board and a list.

We will update this thread as soon as we have more information. We will also announce it in I will also make an announcement in here: https://forum.asana.com/c/community-forum-announcements/product-updates

Welcome to the Forum @Vinny_Troia

If you have this feature in a Project, you will see both tabs ā€œListā€ & ā€œBoardā€ in your Project view and you will able to switch between the two as you need.

@Natalia or @Marie will we have the option to see My Tasks as a board view as well?

@Aly, I just tested in an organization that has the new functionality and (so far, at least) it’s just for projects, not for My Tasks, search results, or tags views.

Hi
This reply is from April. Has your work had any progress since then? And when are you planning to implement the feature?
I“m eager to now because I really miss it.

Is there any further update on this feature? is it live?

It’s live for a portion of Asana users, and they are currently rolling it out slowly to their user base over time. They haven’t provided a timeframe as to when it will be implemented for 100% of users, have only said that they’re proceeding slowly and carefully so as not to overly impact their processing capabilities.
