yes, we need this option. Sometimes I am on the road and could easily answer everything just leaving audio… NOOO, i can’t, i need time to write everything. As i mentioned - transcribe option would be great too.
I agree here. This is a game changer.

Yes add this feature.
Why add video recording as comment in the task and not audio as well?
Doesn’t even need to be transcribed. Just leave it as an audio note or voice note.
+1 that should really be added soon, slack has it already, so should asana
need the ability to voice memo my project collaborators as I’m on the go and can’t often type!!
Hi @Marie - Is Asana looking into this feature?
I don’t believe this is something we’re currently working on, but I’ll post an update here as soon as I hear otherwise!
Why? And What about disabled folks ?
This would be a game-changer of me. A lot of my work instructions have to go through Element (our work messenger), simply because asana doesn’t support voice commands, and when I am on the go, voice works best. This sort of splits our work which is not ideal. I really hope Asana can prioritize this.
And while you are at it, what would be amazing is the option to have “Spee to Text” to the voice message is converted to text, for the reader. With the recent significant advances in voice recognition AI, I hope this should be relatively achieveable.
Thanks for this great product.
@asana team - add the voice comment feature!
This is such an important feature! Any updates here? I feel like I must be missing something.
For context—I actually can’t believe Asana doesn’t offer this yet. In a distributed world, voice notes are such a critical tool. All the new collab/productivity tools are being built with this style of work in their core DNA. I think it is really important for Asana to evolve here or it’s going to be hard for us to keep using it as our main platform.
And to be clear, I’m looking for a basic function of recording and posting a voice memo. Voice transcript feels irrelevant and way outside what is actually helpful.
(For context, we have ~100 paying members on our team.)
Please add this soon!!!
Has this been added for desktop yet?
Why hasn’t this feature been added yet?
stron support for this!!!
Will this integration be helpful instead? Fireflies.ai + Asana • Asana
Hi guys, I had the same problem like you. Then I decided we will solve this.
My company and I have developed a app using speech to target asana. Asana is the first integration, but won’t be the last one.
The features it currently supports are:
- Create a task via audio-input
- Comment to a task via audio-input
What features we are thinking about:
- List tasks
Every audio is transcribed, enhanced by ai (if you like) and to be really save, the original audio will also be attached to the task
Currently this app called Dictautomate is in private beta.
If you want to have early access, shape the features or just make sure this will really be available in the app store, join the beta.
or just let me know what you think: dictautomate@araucon.de
That sounds amazing. I’d love to beta test it.
what about mobile? its way more important for mobile when its not easy to type, also will the Original audio be attached as a comment or just to the task?
@Leiby_Markowitz sorry for the late reply, seems like I didn’t get the notification. Please send an email in such cases.
I’m happy to anounce that the app is now available in the App Store.
Mobile: We are evaluating the feature, but right now the recording-functionality is only on the watch. Can you send an email with some more information to info@dictautomate.app? How exactly do you plan to use it on the phone? Where are your problems with using the normal Asanaapp for phone?
Original audio: There are two separate features.
- New Task: the original audio is attached to the task
- Existing Task: the original audio (and the transcribed text) are added to the task as a comment.
Hope I was able to answer your questions. Otherwise, please feel free to reach out. We are keen to get to know what everyone of you needs and enhance our product.
