I love sorting my reports by project, however, once I do that, I can’t within the projects sort their tasks by date.
Is there anyway you can create a feature where after you’ve filtered it you can add a second filter ? At least to be able to sort by date! Or at least for us to be able to move manually the projects and tasks up and down…

Am I assuming correctly that you are talking about sorting within a search result?
Another option to do this with existing functionality would be to create a project where all your report’s tasks get multihomed to. Then you should be able to use the multi-sort option that is available in projects.
It does require you to add all the tasks to this project, and maybe for future tasks you could create a rule in a bundle that automatically does that for new tasks.
