Rule for moving parent task automatically when subtasks are completed

Hi everyone,

We work with work packages as the top-level tasks in our projects. That means the overarching task is the work package, and below that, we have subtasks assigned to the respective teams’ projects.

Now, I want to create a rule that automatically moves the work package (the parent task) to our quality assurance project once all subtasks are completed.

For this, I set up the following rule in the main project where the work package resides:
Trigger: Task completion status changes → Condition: All subtasks are marked as completed → Action: Add the task to another project.

However, the last step (the action) only applies to the most recently completed subtask instead of the parent task.

Does anyone know if there’s a way to achieve my goal? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks a lot!

Hey @Melanie_Joos :waving_hand:

I’ve tested on my end and I think it should work.

Can you confirm your rule looks like this?

Also, the rule config should be “Run on subtasks”

Wow, that’s the solution! It works! Thank you so much, @Arthur_BEGOU
The issue was with the trigger.
