Restrict "@ mention" list to project members

It would be so helpful for those of us using Asana with clients if using the “@ mention” restricted the available names to those within the project so people with different client teams aren’t accidentally tagged in when they shouldn’t be. Thanks!

Hi @Courtney_Calovich and welcome to the forum,

FYI I edited your post title slightly for clarity, as “tags” refer to a different feature in Asana than the “@ mention” feature.

Also, there is an existing topic for a similar request that you might want to vote for: Show task collaborators and board members first when mentioning or assigning

I considered merging your post with that thread, but your request is not exactly the same so I thought it best to leave it separate.

Thank you for the added clarification! We’re definitely struggling with clients being @ mentioned and added as collaborators on tasks (and therefore projects) meant for other clients with similar names or email addresses.

Appreciate your referencing the other topic - I think either would resolve the issue if it pulled only project members first or if it only showed project members!

@Courtney_Calovich I don’t have a timeline for you yet, but wanted to acknowledge and share I’ve been advocating for this internally as a part of broader search infrastructure improvements! Appreciate you sharing and being an Ambassador :folded_hands:
