Restrict authorization for team workload

We consciously maintain open communication also outside the core team for our projects to ensure proper information and collaboration. Therefor we open offer open book for the complete company.

Unfortunately we are now getting some problems with the working council who does not accept that everybody can see the team workload as well workload of each team member - exspecially if someone is not member of the team.

I have investigate a little bit and see, that a reader is not able to change the project structure nor to add workload up if this view has not been activated by admin. But if the workload has been activated everybody can see it.

Is there any trick to limit the access workload view to project members only?

Are you referring to Universal Workload, Portfolio Workload, or Project Workload?

Unfortunately: all of them

Universal Workload - if you create it yourself, you’ll only see how busy people are on things you are allowed to see
Project Workload - if you already have access to the project, the workload is simply a consolidated view
Portfolio Workload - you only see the projects you have access to anyway

So to me there isn’t a use case where Workload gives you access to private things. Am I mistaken somehow? @Arthur_BEGOU would you agree with me?

Bastian,

the problem is, that everybody from our company has access to (nearly) every project. That is our decision and okay - but, the workload should be hidden for people who has no change authorization (= not accessible for viewer)

Another example: I can hide special fields and get it open for admins only. I am searching for similar function to hide workloads for read-only users.

So if I understand correctly, in your company someone can have the right to see everything, but you want to prevent them from having a consolidated view/dashboard, correct?

Yes

In that case, I don’t think that’s possible. Someone could already plugin a tool like screenful, PowerBI etc and suck all the data out to another tool and report on it as well
