Remove tags from the tag list?

How can I remove a specific tag from the tag list?

Hi @Ilya2, welcome to the Asana Community Forum!

You can remove a task following these steps:

  1. Click the tag’s name and you will navigate to another page with a list of tasks associated to the tag.
  2. Click to view tag actions via the drop down arrow
  3. Select Delete Tag from the options to remove it from your tag list

You can find more information in this article.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions

Can this be automated?

Hi @anon13584666 and welcome to the forum,

Not with Asana natively, as Asana rules do not support triggers or actions involving tags.

You can automate it with our Flowsana integration; Flowsana’s rules have trigger conditions for “if tag X is added to a task” and “if tag X is removed from a task”, and we have rule actions for “add tag X to task” and “remove tag X from task”.

Just wanted to share some feedback on this as I had to search for this solution as a new user. The tagging system is not intuitive. Tags should show by default in the fields list, and you should be able to add, edit, or remove from the task view. Or, a page in the admin settings.
