Relative due dates in custom project templates

Hello,
Am I correct that this is not available to tasks that are created via rules within the template?

It seems as though I the before/after drop down is available in the tasks built into the templates initially, but when creating a rule that creates a new task I still only have the option to enter a positive integer, i.e. X days “after the trigger task is due.”

I’d like to be able to set the new task to have a due date of X days before the Project Due Date.

Am I missing a way to do this?

Hi @Zhana_Morris,

I think you are correct. This applies to tasks that are in the project template.

This means that it works for tasks that are already in the template, not tasks that are added later by rules.

Create a rule for a subtask to be due a certain number of days BEFORE the parent task's due date

It would be great if it were possible to create a rule that triggers a sub task’s due date to be a certain number of days BEFORE the parent task’s due date. As far as I can see, it is only possible to set the due date based on the trigger time, start date of the task, creation time, and due date (i.e. number of days AFTER the due date of the trigger task).
