Hi! What happened to the status field? It used to show the status notes but with the new update it only shows the status and no notes. Is there a way to fix this? It was nice to see the status notes at a glance.
Also having an issue with the lack of Status notes in the default Portfolio view. Our teams run meetings based on these status updates and having the summary in the list view was an important feature for them.
Also having a very difficult time with the āstatusā field update. We use this field weekly to review where program are at with clients. It was nice to see a summary of why somethign was āon trackā āat riskā or āoff trackā. Can this please be fixed to show this again?
Hi ASANA!
I was really disappointed when I did the update and the āStatus Summaryā notes went away in the Portfolio view.
Being able to go over āSummary notesā is a critical part for my teamās two weekly meetings to go over every program that is currently in production and to be able to read the notes inputted by the lead PM on that program.
Is there a way to revert back to the previous Portfolio layout, with āSummary notesā visible or are you able to push another update to bring this back?
Please advise on this issue as this is a huge roadblock for my team using ASANA.
Iām casting another vote to restore (or make available in another way) the full āLatest Updateā text that used to show up with the Status field.
We regularly review a list of 100+ projects, and if we have to open up the fly-out window with each one, it will double the amount of time weāre spending in these meetings.
Could the Latest Update be pulled in as a separate Custom Field?
Or, can the text be available when hovering over the current Status field?
Removing this feature has eliminated the main benefit we were gaining from Portfolios.
+1
Iāve just opening up the new portfolio view and my day is ruined.
PLEASE give us an option to bring back the latest updates text inline in the list view, itās essential for how we operate
Ben
Agreed.
Most of you havenāt voted, which is important to do to convey to Asana. Please click the thread title to scroll to the top and then click the purple Vote button, as I just did.
Thanks,
Larry
Thanks for the heads up Larry, I just voted.
We go through all our projects on a fortnightly basis and ask PMs to update their projects so that if they are unable to attend the meeting we can all see at a glance where a project is at.
Please bring back the full text in Portfolio view
Hi everyone, and thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us!
The update you have noticed is related to our recent portfolio redesign. We updated the portfolio list view to a more compact, project-like layout to make it easier to consume and update data in your portfolios.
With this update, you can now also quickly access all information directly from list view with the new right pane. You just need to click on the project and the right pane with all the details will open.
I have gone ahead and share all your comments with our product team. Learning from your use cases is very important for us to improve portfolios.
Iāll let you know if I have more information about this update. Please let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime.
To add to @Emily_Roman 's post above, in case anyone is also missing seeing the Team name or Overdue tasks of each project (as per the previous version of Portfolios did), both of these can be enabled as additional field columns from the Customize menu.
Thanks for the information.
It took me a second or two to work out that you need to click on the arrow by the project name so that you donāt open the project in full which is very hit and miss, itās too easy to click on the full project and we have 70+ to run through on a fortnightly basis. Much simpler to see the summary in the status tab!
Agree - this is something our team uses extensively to work with external partners and Iāve already had one person ask about it. Iām sure there will be more to come.
In addition, the milestones used to wrap, and now you have to widen the column way too far in order to see all of them. Can the wrapping also be reinstated? They arenāt in order either. So it doesnāt make sense.
I agree, its still an extra click and not an easy way to digest information from a management perspective. the Previous view was much better and Iām hoping there is a way to bring it back quickly.
I get the design purpose of it, but the reason why we like having the status text, or at least a summary of it displayed, upfront is specifically so we can scan our projects quickly to get their current status without having to click into each one individually. If Iām going to have to click into each project anyway to see their status, Iām going to skip portfolios entirely and just go to each project page directly where I can actually work on stuff. This new view, as it is currently implemented, is not useful.
Could not agree more.
Portfolio view is broken!!!
The extra click to drill in on the status updates just made this view too cumbersome for my weekly meetings. I feel like I have to find a bandaid method-workaround now to do what I was already doing.
Please, please fix this!!
In addition to the helpful comments, itās important to click the title of this thread to scroll to the top and then click the purple Vote button to register your desire to see this addressed.
Thanks,
Larry
Please give us the option to go back to the previous layout (yesterday!). This new condensed version is extremely difficult to read. The portofolio is an invaluable tool and I need to be able to see it!
Adding my voice to the chorus ā PLEASE restore the original view. The whole point of the portfolio view is being able to see the status updates at a glance, knowing when the last status update came in is completely useless info.
