I want to add to this group that it’s also a feature that me and my team are missing. Please deliver this asap!
I’m new to Asana. I see that I can set up a task to recur on a certain DATE (like the 15th), but how do I set up a task to recur on a certain DAY of the month? (Like on the first Sunday of the month, or the third Thursday of the month?) This is very important to be able to do in my line of work. IPhone scheduling lets me do it. Does Asana?
Hello @Matt_Herndon, welcome to the Asana Community Forum
I have merged your post into an existing feedback request thread. Don‘t forget upvoting
Thanks for responding to the post, but the fact that this request has been repeatedly made for five years with no action does not reassure me that Asana is taking the needs of its customers seriously. MS Tasks does this seamlessly, as do other platforms.
Hello @Matt_Herndon,
I‘d like to refer to this post.
We will be moving to a competitor based on this feature lacking for so long.
I just began using Asana and I was shocked to find that not only is this not a feature, but that this has also been requested constantly for 5 years without any response on when the feature might be implemented. It’s such a basic feature that other software and tools have. Is there any update on this?
I have been using Asana for a long time. I use a ton of the deep features within it and this feature need seems to be in high demand and is far lighter than other features introduced. My due dates breakdown for a lot of tasks within our organization as we prepare for meetings, brainstorms, and creating material for reoccurring events that fall on a certain day of the week, but on a monthly basis. This needs to happen asap. Do we have an update on the prioritization of this in the backlog?
This is a huge deficit in my ability schedule. Please add the feature asap!
I agree. I’m glad I’m on a free trial instead of having purchased the software outright. How can a multi-million dollar program used by giant corporations NOT have X day of the month, week, year repeat options already built into it!? What a recipe for scheduling flubs. Totally unacceptable for project management software at this level. I am floored and disappointed. At least someone should give us a workaround until this is developed… or I have to go back to Trello or Google Calendar, ugh.
Would a member of the @Forum-team kindly provide us with an update on this feature?
This is one of my most frustrating things in Asana. Seems like a simple fix!
Hi all! I can’t find if this is already an option in Asana? Would be SO helpfull!!
I’d like to request this feature too. For now I guess I’m going to use Google calendar events for these types of tasks.
So many of my responsibilities and meetings are scheduled as “first Monday of the month” rather than by the particular date–I am constantly surprised that the Asana recurring task due date does not have the ability to do this. PLEASE ADD!
If you are ok with using a 3rd party, you can look at my tool Recurring tasks by IDO
If this specific pattern is not available, I could add it!
I just upvoted as well. I work in Accounting, and being able to select a business day (Business Day 1, Business Day 2, … Business Day -2, Business Day -1, etc.) is critical.
Hi Chrissy,
Far superior, for this in partcular.
Annoyingly I would actually prefer to use Asana as I could continue to work closer with my freelancers who use Asana for their big projects.
It seems crazy that I have spent months moving away from a platform that would be more than substantial if they just made this simple fix!
Asana, give us a response!
I strongly agree to this feature idea!
I would really appreciate this feature too, Asana is so great otherwise. Would love an update.
