Rebranding URL & the new email policy

I’ve created 2 support tickets with no response, so trying here.

We’ve got 27 members in our Business account. We rebranded our organization recently and need to update emails and replace the URL for the account. The new URL is already added to the account as an additional option because new staff are automatically using it.

I’ve just asked all other members add the new email address to their Settings and update their Notifications. Then I plan to request the URL be replaced by the new one. What I’m unclear about is if there is any delay in replacing the URL once I’ve requested it. I’m not sure how much time we have left and I don’t want to end up with a split account and no way to fix it.

Thanks

From what I gather support has quite a big workload. I’m expecting you’ll get a reply eventually.

I’m not sure how this process works but I’m hoping someone from @pforumleader or @ambforumleader has an answer for you.

Adding the new email accounts to the current accounts sounds like a good idea.

Hi @Theresa_Ryan , have you added the new domain in the Admin Console and gone through its validation process?

Yes. Both the new and old domains are listed in Associated Domains. I added the new one about a month ago and I don’t remember if there was a validation process, but I had no issues with doing that.

As far as I know, If you are fine with your Org having 2 domains associated for a while (not removing the old one), your users can have 2 email addresses associated to their accounts (the old and new domains) and they will not be split.

Thanks David. I figured adding the new emails couldn’t hurt.

I have a similar issue. With the email policy only some of our users were required to update their account. Once updated we can no longer access Asana tasks with the old email because Asana requires you to reset the password to an email we no longer have. As a work around we had users who weren’t required to update their account add users that are locked out with a new email. Then we had to update every single task to the new email in order to use Asana. The problem with this is project Admins are no longer able to edit projects once added with the 2nd email. I created a ticket back on July 12th and still no response from Asana.
