Provide Filter/Search functionality in a project for Text custom fields

The Filter tool within projects is immensely powerful, but it feels lacking that I cannot filter or search my large projects based on the values of a custom field with a field type of “Text.” The functionality already exists in Advanced Search - but only for public custom fields. If I want to find seven tasks amongst 200 that all have the same value in one of my private text-based custom fields, I don’t have a good way to do that besides using the built-in Find tool in my browser and a prayer.

If I could use the Filter button to show any task in the project where the value of a custom field contains or does not contain a specific word, just like I could via Advanced Search, I’d be happy. Or, some kind of quick “Search this project” tool that allowed me to do the same as Advanced Search does, but with fewer steps.

(I could expand this request to Number custom fields too; I imagine the effort level to build both would be nearly the same as building just one)

Now it’s only possible to filter for only one custom field, but not if the custom field is in text format.

Hi @Riccardo_Mares, thanks for providing this feedback.

While this feature isn’t available at this time, hopefully it’s something our Product team can implement in the future
