Projects on tasks are no longer visible to the assignee if the project is in a team that is public

Briefly describe (1-2 sentences) the bug you’re experiencing:
Projects on tasks are no longer visible to the assignee if the project is in a team that is public.
Before this use to work, however now this is no longer working and has messed up a lot of our processes which relies on this feature.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create a public team
  2. Create a project in that team
  3. Create a task in that team
  4. Assign that task to someone not in that team
  5. Task will not show what project that task is in

Browser version:
Chrome 121.0.6167.185

What version of Asana are you using (Personal, Starter, Advanced, Enterprise, Enterprise+, Premium, Business or legacy Enterprise)?
Business

Hi @Tony_Anh_Nguyen ,

Could you share a screenshot of the project’s share settings? (instead of the team’s sharing settings). That way I could likely help you better.

Perhaps you now see a new option to share the project with your entire organization?

Btw, if the person you are assigning is a Guest, then they will not see the project or team if they are not members. Guests have limited visibility compared to normal members.

Hi @Richard_Sather,

Thank you for that! I didn’t realise that there’s a setting to share the project to the organisation.
Looks like a new feature.
