Assigning a task to multiple people is a feature I use frequently, especially if there’s something that needs feedback from multiple folks. But whenever I do that, it creates copies of the original task that are assigned to people, but leaves the original task unassigned. This leaves me with an extra task, which I then have to delete. Some folks might like this behavior, if it’s a task they are using as a template of sorts, but for me it adds that bit of friction that isn’t necessary.
Perhaps it could be a checkbox on this dialog, something to the effect of “Leave this task copy unassigned”, could even be checked by default if you want the default experience to be consistent for backward compatibility.
