In the previous version, if you clicked on the People tab, you could list all of your teams in the order you wanted and see all of them at the same time. Now, whenever you select a project, it just defaults back to the work tab. If I need to find a team that doesn’t appear in the work tag, I have to click back to the people tab. Please just allow the people tab to stay open after you’ve clicked it.

For anyone managing multiple teams and projects this is a terrible new workflow. There is a reason I am in the “people” tab - I want to see my teams, their projects, and the tasks assigned to them.
However, with the latest release, every project I click within the “People” tab takes me to the “Work” tab. Which there are three more click to get back to the same spot I already was. I need to click the “People” tab again, click the “Show More” link again, and then hover and click on the team/project I want to review again.
The problem is that this workflow is a change from one that I have been working with for 10 plus years. It is an inconvenience at best and a waste of my time.
Chris, I 100% agree with this feedback! Asana has made many changes over the years (many that were great), however, this one has been the hardest adjustment of them all and is impacting my workflow in a real way. The other thing I noticed is that the Inbox no longer shows up under the People tab. The inbox should show up under any tab you are on, allowing you to stay in that tab.

Hi! As someone running a small business, I always have the “Teams” sidebar running (under “People”), so I can see at a glance what projects are running under each team. After the update, the “Teams” sidebar keeps disappearing after I click on a project. It reverts back to “Work” which is far less helpful to me. I do not need to see what projects I have already looked at today. That is far less relevant to my job than being able to look at and navigate my teams.
Is this something they are working on fixing? It just seems like each update, they change things to the point that Asana is less helpful than it was before - at least for my needs.
Yes, this also my issue. It has made me look at other options as I really need to be able to see what projects each team has.

To avoid the need of creating another separate thread, I’ve moved this thread into the English Forum > Product Feedback where you can now vote on.
When selecting the ‘People’ option in the new sidebar, to see all the Teams and then projects within that team - once selected the sidebar option defaults back to the Work menu.
Is there any option to stop this happening? Many of us are in multiple teams and need to see all projects but once one project is selected and we want to see then next, we need to go back to People, then to Team and then to the project, because the menu goes back to the ‘Work’ option.
A default menu option would be beneficial here.
Does anyone know if there is a way to do this? Thanks in advance
Welcome @Nicole_Knox-Gray It would be great if you could make the ‘people’ default on the settings, I can’t see a way to do this at the moment, even reordering them - it defaults back to the work tab. This would be a good submission for product feedback, I can’t see any others relating to this at present.
The only option I can think of is clicking through to the team, and viewing ‘All Work’, then opening the projects in a new tab?

Hi all,
Opening a project from People, Strategy, etc. no longer sends you back to Work. Loading a project or task from any tab keeps you in that tab, with your sidebar in place. If you refresh your Asana, you should see this change reflected.
Quick note on why this took us a few weeks: We want to maintain the principle behind the new navigation, which is that opening an object takes you to the tab that object lives in, which we have seen help improve understanding of how the app is organized. However, we have decided that projects and tasks are the exception since they’re the base level work items powering Asana and they cut across nearly every tab.
