New Mobile Inbox should show full comment

The new Inbox on the iOS app unfortunately does not show the full last comment. Which makes going through your updates so much more cumbersome.

In the old version I could just scroll through the list of the last updates and archive them as necessary. 90% of all updates don’t require an answer, and simply archiving them after reading was a one-step process.

The new inbox only shows a message that someone has commented, but the actual comment isn’t visible anymore. So now I have to

– Tap on the entry
– Wait until the comments load
– Scroll way down to the bottom (sometimes the app jumps to the new comments, which I guess is the desired behavior, but most of the time that does not work so I have to scroll through hundreds of comments)
– Read the comment
– Swipe back to the inbox
– Swipe to archive the entry

So you managed to turn a quick and easy one-step process into an annoying and cumbersome 4-step-process! Good work! ##sarcasm off##

The good news is, there is a simple fix: Don’t cut off the comments in the inbox. PLEASE!

Hi @Thilo_Roscheisen, thanks for reaching out and for taking the time to provide us with your feedback on our new inbox feature in the iOS app. I’ve gone ahead and made a note of your feedback for our Product Team so that they can take it into consideration as final touches and tweaks are made.

Thanks again and please let me know if you have any follow up questions.

Great. Thank you.

Thilo

@Emily_Roman I just got the new inbox experience on iOS and I have similar feedback. My use case for the mobile inbox is to scroll through and review, archive, and like comments directly from the feed. The new flow is much slower to actually read a comment and kind of makes me feel like uninstalling the app and throwing my phone out the window.

Also I’ve missed the ‘undo’ archive push-up after swiping to archive. It would be nice if it stayed in the same place as the archived task the way the web inbox works.

Thank you @Thilo_Roscheisen for a great summary and proposal. :+1:
@Emily_Roman, thanks for great response. :person_in_lotus_position:

Each year we ask executives of our clients how their business operations in Asana felt during summer vacation. Previous years we have got responses like:
“I could be with family instead of sneaking away to computer”
“I felt in control even when away”
Even their partners have reached out thanking us for enabling them to spend more time with family.

Today I received: “I used to be able to run the company from the phone, now with the new inbox and all navigation and tapping, it’s not possible anymore, it’s to cluttered”.

The loading time of task makes It cumbersome, back navigation to inbox to archive makes it cumbersome.

As @Thilo_Roscheisen said: “The good news is, there is a simple fix: Don’t cut off the comments in the inbox. PLEASE!”

The only addition to the request above would be to bring back the “like” button to the inbox in addition to full comments, having those features in the mobile app inbox Is extremely time saving. I often wait until I can get back to my computer to go through my inbox which is delaying timely information for me and my team. Restoring this feature is critically needed. Thanks!
