See clip below. The “Preview” button seen in this pic is now missing which has made utter hash out of some of our processes.
How can we get this back?

Yes!!! Where did this go? Agreed need this back. When changing the last item in a series of dependencies, with ‘maintain buffer’ the connected tasks need to move. This was the best (Only?) tool available to do this outside of timeline view, and now timeline view does not even work this way.
We manage projects by ‘Pull planning’. Ie, the end date defines when all other activities must occur by. We manage the end date with our clients using a task in that project, we manually updated it at intervals using the ‘Preview’ button as noted by Matt5, and that updates all other tasks due dates (with the maintain buffer), and we have it reporting up at the Portfolio level. All of that functionality now seems to be gone.
Please make the behavior of these the same as before.
-Thx!
That preview option is still available in list, it just happens automatically (instead of making you press preview/update before moving dates). It seems like the issue is actually that even with maintain buffer on, date changes on downstream tasks no longer affect upstream tasks. Is that a fair summation @Matt5 and @Jay_Miller?
Personally, this works better for my workflow, but I definitely can see the use cases where this is disruptive. Perhaps this would make sense as a project setting option (auto-shifting all tasks vs. only downstream).
See this post for more details on the recent update (gated for Ambassadors):

Stephen,
Yes, that is a fair summation: "It seems like the issue is actually that even with maintain buffer on, date changes on downstream tasks no longer affect upstream tasks. "
This behavior makes pull planning very difficult. Having a setting to toggle this behavior could be a good solution.
I cannot seem to follow that link for some reason, says it is ‘not found or private’?
Shoot sorry, just realized that’s in the gated Ambassadors section. Basically, it just calls out what you’ve discovered: you can only auto-shift downstream dependencies.
I don’t see too much discussion on this yet (it’s a new-ish release) so I created a feedback topic here. Consider giving it a vote
