I know this issue has been mentioned before but I believe it needs to be brought back up, it’s been so long that we’ve struggled with this. We have a lot of mobile users, and Asana needs to understand that mobile users are often the weakest, least technologically advanced users of anyone in a company. Frequently these mobile users are technicians, mechanics, installers, delivery crew, etc… not office personnel. I have several guys on staff that could build your entire kitchen, or rebuild your car’s engine, but simply cannot figure out how to find a subtask once it becomes “number 11” on the subtask list.
Here are a few points that I believe would make a world of difference.
- Completed Subtasks should always go to the end of the list.
- Subtasks should always be sorted by due date, soonest at top. Then, if no due date, “oldest created” goes to the top.
- Users need a way of “pinning” a subtask to the top of the list as a “sticky note”.
In our company, all the “jobs” that we do (off-site, in-house visits) get a Task, and there’s ALWAYS a subtask created by template/rule that says “All Pictures Go Here” so that our techs can upload pictures into the subtask without junking up the main job info Task.
