No, this is not the behaviour I see. My task list is Filtered by incomplete tasks, and Grouped by Due date.
When I collapse “Before May 2024” and complete a task from elsewhere in the list, and then go to a project and then back to My Tasks, “Before May 2024” is expanded again.
What you’re referring to as sections aren’t really sections, but groupings created by the fact you’ve grouped by due date.
I expect it doesn’t work the way you’d like because these groupings are re-created every time you open My Tasks based on the due date. And as they are something that is created dynamically they therefore aren’t saved, which means it is currently impossible to save whether it is collapsed or not.
I’m not merging this post as you’ve made it a feature request.
My guess is chances are low that this gets implemented though, as I’m guessing it’s a lot of work and extra data needing to be saved to make this work.
