Listing Ballerina Asana connector on Asana API documentation.

Description

We have written an official Ballerina connector for Asana [1] and I would like to get it listed under client-libraries section in Asana developer documentation [2] It seems like the Github repository containing the API docs is read-only and cannot be modified. How can I get this done ?

[1] - https://central.ballerina.io/ballerinax/asana/2.0.0
[2] - https://developers.asana.com/docs/client-libraries

The client libraries listed in the docs are only for those official libraries developed/supported by Asana; they don’t include third-party libraries there.

@Phil_Seeman thank you for the response.

Ballerina connector for Asana REST API was developed using the official Asana OpenAPI spec [1] Is there any place we could list this connector ?

I don’t work for Asana; I’ll let the Asana folks reply on that question.

@John_Vu @AndrewWong any update on this ?

Hi @Ayesh_Almeida,

This is awesome :star_struck:. Thank you for creating this connector for Asana. I’ll have to check with the team on our policy for listing third-party client libraries. I’ll keep you posted.

Hi @Ayesh_Almeida, I checked with my team regarding our policy for listing third-party client libraries in our developer documentation. Unfortunately, we are unable to include your Ballerina connector, as we are restricted to listing only our in-house SDKs.

@John_Vu Thank you for getting back to me and for clarifying Asana’s policy on third-party client libraries.

I understand the current focus on listing in-house SDKs, but I believe having a dedicated section for community SDKs in the Asana documentation could be highly beneficial. Such a page could serve as a valuable resource for developers looking for alternative options to integrate with Asana, especially for languages not yet covered by Asana’s in-house SDKs—like Ballerina.

Community SDKs provide more flexibility, encourage collaboration, and help grow the ecosystem by giving developers more integration choices. I’m hopeful that Asana might consider this addition in the future, as it could greatly enhance developer engagement and support for Asana.

Thanks again for considering!
