Let Claude create portfolios and add projects to them in Asana

We use Claude a lot internally to manage our Asana work, but right now Claude can’t create portfolios or add projects to a portfolio. Asana just doesn’t allow it through the API/MCP integration. Everything else (tasks, projects, status updates) works fine, but this one piece still has to be done manually in the Asana UI.

We’d like to request API/MCP access for:

  • Creating portfolios
  • Adding/assigning projects to a portfolio

This affects our Programs EMEA team, but it’s a global need for anyone automating Asana work with Claude. We’re not looking for a workaround, we’d like this added as a proper feature.

Thanks for submitting this. We will consider it as part of upcoming MCP enhancements, but don’t have a timeline for you right now.
