Is there a specific data field in the api for the duration field shown in the Gantt view?
I would like to write a script that enables auto scheduling of task respective of the dates of a blocking task and the number in the duration field.

Sorry to say that the Duration field is not currently exposed in or available to the API. It’s a fairly new feature and the API doesn’t always keep up with the web app, so they might add it to the API at some point.
(FYI you may well want to build your own solution but if not, you might want to check out the Dynamic Duration workflow in our Flowsana integration - it does exactly what you mentioned.
