In portfolio "Progress" tabs, display project-level status updates from projects in that portfolio

At our organization, it’d be really useful to group related projects together with portfolios, and have status updates from projects auto-populate into the portfolio’s “Progress” tab. The “on track” marker in the list view is helpful, but would like a little more detail.

@Dana_Branham - to clarify, are you asking for items inside the portfolio to publish their status updates in the progress tab’s recent status updates (alongside the portfolio’s own status updates)? Would that potentially cause confusion between project and portfolio-level information?

In the meantime, make sure you give your post a vote with the purple button next to the title. You probably already know this, but in the list view, if you use the status column, you can see recent updates for all your projects (and if you click any of those, you can see the status update history for that project).

Hi Stephen! Correct, we would find it valuable for the progress tab inside a portfolio to display status updates for the projects it contains.

The way we use portfolios is to keep related projects grouped together so a manager/supervisor has one place to look for updates, rather than checking each individual project for updates. We also don’t often use portfolio-level status updates, so displaying the project-level status updates in the portfolio’s progress tab would save us a step of doing an extra portfolio status update just to have something show up there.
