How to hide and unhide columns in Asana List View - July 2024

  1. To Hide a column
    a. Click the down arrow on the column header
    b. Select “Hide column”

  2. To Unhide a column
    a. Click the Hide Icon (It’s next to the Group icon at the top of the List)

b. Find the desired column on the dropdown list
c. Slide the toggle to the right, turning it blue

d. The column will now show in the List View

Note: the order of the columns is controlled in the Customize button at far upper-right.

  1. Click Customize

  2. Click Fields


  3. Hover over a field in the list until the dragging icon appears of six dots appears

  4. Click and hold the dragging icon and drag the field to the position you want it to appear

Just one clarification - the order of the columns in a List view can be managed by clicking and dragging the fields listed within the ‘Hide’ button. Or simply dragging the headers of columns left/right.

The order of fields within the Customize, which you describe, defines the order that the fields appear in the task details panel’s table (once you open the task).

The final tip is to make sure you click on the ‘Save view’ button in the top right corner to retain your revised layout/changes whenever you visit the project again.

Also note that there may be an A/B test currently in progress where the “Hide” button is called “Options”. If you do happen to see an “Options” button, it’s the above-discussed “Hide” button.
