Lots of previous requests for some iteration of this. It would be helpful if the default was to HIDE archived projects everywhere instead of the default being to show archived projects (and related tasks) unless you specifically tell the system to hide them. With this default, “archive” doesn’t really do anything unless you take extra steps to filter them out, and in some views, there is no option to do so. It’s also unclear in many lists whether a project is archived or not, so you are clicking into each one individually to see what’s “live.”
As an example, when I “Browse Projects,” archived projects appear with no notation that they are archived and no way to filter them out. They also appear on the sidebar, whether I want them there or not.
Most people are using archive to hide/close these projects, so having them pop up by default is difficult. Clutters everything and requires creating special views and saved filters to remove them. You end up having to delete projects completely to get a clean, focused desktop.
