🥂 Here’s to the Asanas: the magicians behind the scenes

If I reflect back on all the highlights of 2025 in my life with Asana…

It won’t just be all the amazing features we got this year (ahem - custom task types, anyone?).

It won’t just be the wonderful customers my team and I have helped adopt Asana and make the most of it.

It won’t just be the incredible Work Innovation Summit and EMEA Partner Summit I had the chance to attend in London.

It won’t just be the fun hangouts with my fellow Forum Leaders, hosted by the ever-lovely @Emily_Roman and @Vanessa_N.

The biggest personal highlight this year has been getting to know the people behind Asana - the ones who make this incredible tool what it is today.

These are the folks shaping the product, and in turn, shaping how we work. They’re the providers of the ‘building blocks’ we use every day, the facilitators of the ‘nuts and bolts’ that help us coordinate, communicate, and innovate across our teams.

This year, we’ve seen a surge of Asana Product Managers post in the Forum and interact with users, listening to feedback, understanding their concerns and letting users know whether a feature is being considered or in-development. This unprecedented transparency and compassion is to be truly commended - I have personally never seen such a vibrant forum and PMs sharing and interacting in such an honest and personal manner.

This year, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting many Asanas - either in person at Work Innovation Summit London, during our Forum Leader hangouts (where they joined as surprise guests!), or in smaller feedback sessions where I got to share thoughts on early prototypes.

So here’s to the Asanas - just a few of the incredible PMs and Engineers I’ve had the chance to meet and learn from in 2025:

  • Sara Shmueli for all her hard work on ‘fixing’ subtasks and delivering an incredible, jam-packed webinar.

  • @Peyton_Lee for bringing us Reference Fields and my absolute favourite, Custom Task Types. Thank you for the calls, emails, and for being so open to feedback.

  • @Nikko_Mendoza for sharing early prototypes of the new sidebar and taking all the feedback from the forum members like a true champ.

  • @Amy_Jin for a lovely conversation at WIS and gathering my feedback on Rules and other features.

  • @Jon_Dobrowolski for showing, us Partners, the roadmap and promising that saved view tabs in templates are coming (we’re holding you to that ).

  • @Manya_Scheps & @Sam_Gold for giving us insights on the superb work on the new Role-based Access Controls.

  • @Hannah_Lee for early insights into the Request Tracking feature and gathering feedback from our forum leaders group.

And last but definitely not least…

  • @Garrett_Knoll for his incredible passion for his work, determination, openness, transparency and the example he sets for how product teams can show up in community spaces. Garrett and I actually discovered we have a shared passion for architecture (fun fact: I used to be an Architect for 20 years before becoming an Asana Solutions Partner!) where he shared his stunning photography with me, some of which is now part of my living room - a true highlight of 2025!

This is such a beautiful reflection, @Richard_Sather :yellow_heart: Thank you for putting it into words so well.

Getting to meet you and the other Forum Leaders and Ambassadors in person at WIS London was genuinely one of my own highlights this year. Seeing the connections that start in the Forum come to life in real conversations was something really special.

You bring so much thoughtfulness to this space, and it shows in every interaction. Thank you for everything you contributed in 2025. Looking forward to more good moments together next year :bottle_with_popping_cork: :clinking_glasses:

Wonderful post, @Richard_Sather, and I share your sentiments about these highly accomplished and personable Asanas we’ve been fortunate to engage with.

And those characteristics apply to you as well, as we extend our friendship another year (even if I still slightly panic seeing a quick reply from you to a post I’ve just made, wondering if you’ve found a flaw  ).
