I believe I should be able to set up a combination of project access + field settings to allow Guests to update custom field values ie: I have a custom checkbox that I would like to give our external guest users the ability to edit within a Project they have access to as ‘Commentors’. I do not want to open up full Project access to allow editing across all fields. I’ve been digging around in the set up, how to docs + testing various configs. and I haven’t been able to successfully enable this - any direction?
Hi @Rachael_Dacey and welcome to the forum!
I’m afraid Commenter access to a project doesn’t allow editing of any task data in that project, including custom fields (that’s the whole point of “commenter” as distinct from full project access).
Thanks all - with the new enhancement to hide custom fields I should be able to combine ‘editor’ access at the project level to restrict the number of fields guests have the ability to access, but assuming Asana native fields (due date, Task name, assignee - would still be editable?)
Yes, BUT if you have an Enterprise or Enterprise+ subscription, you can now prevent editing of assignee and due date!
FYI there is no checkbox custom field in Asana.
Thanks for letting me know @Phil_Seeman!
