Google Sheets Integration and Custom Fields

Hi All,

I am looking into the google sheets integration for portfolio reporting, and was wondering if anyone had any luck exporting custom fields. For the portfolios that I have tried to use this on, it just gives me a really simple breakdown of the tasks and their statuses. I was hoping to have custom fields exported so I could do some analysis more like the reporting feature within Asana.

I just tested and it’s operating as expect and includes custom fields (in the Live Data tab at the far right–scroll right to see):

There are a couple export options for a portfolio, you’re using Google Sheets, right, as described here:

Aha, I have to manually add all my custom fields into the portfolio before they show up it looks like - I was thinking that all the custom fields within the projects in the portfolios would be added. I’m doing that now, but not all of my custom fields are coming up as an option. If you have any insight there, I’ll take it!

I haven’t ever run into that but your explanation sounds totally plausible (well done!), though it would be nice if the integration was aware of such changes and just accommodated them.

I hope that takes care of it.

I was wondering if it would be possible to get assignee level data on Google sheet.

Welcome, @Parshva_Shah,

I really doubt that because it’s at the portfolio level with one spreadsheet row per project; it’s not task-level.

Hi @Emily_Bright1 , your custom field needs to be added to your library. Then it will be available to add to a Portfolio or other projects.

Edit the custom field and check the first box where is says ‘Add to … library’.
