Google Gemini for Asana

Almost three years ago :index_pointing_up: (Feb 2023), I requested a native voice-based way to add tasks to Asana, for example:

“Hey Google, find tasks assigned to me due this week”

Similar requests date back even further (2017–2019), but as of today, there’s still no native solution. Fast-forward to 2026: Asana has now launched Asana AI connectors, which finally gives some hope that deeper AI and voice integrations with Gemini may be on the roadmap.

Given Asana’s long-standing position as a productivity leader, it’s hard to understand why

  1. Asana launched AI connectors first on Claude, not on ChatGPT or Gemini

  2. There is no direct Gemini UI entry point for Asana and Gemini connector is restricted to Enterprise Google Workspace users only (Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise tiers). General users are effectively blocked from these AI capabilities.

  3. There’s still no native voice-first experience via Android App Actions or Gemini

In contrast, both ChatGPT and Claude integrations allow free users to connect to Asana without such licensing restrictions.

I’d really appreciate it if someone from the Asana technical or product team could share:

  • Whether Gemini integration is planned for a general release

  • If/when non-enterprise users can expect access

  • Whether native voice task creation is finally on the roadmap after all these years

This would go a long way in setting expectations for ambassadors and long-time users who have been advocating for this since many years.
