Get back on track as a CEO not using Asana (yet)

You are a very busy CEO, you recently agreed on getting Asana for your team. Everybody seem happy, calm and productive at the office. On the other hand, you struggle, you have a lack of clarity, and you are chasing too many topics at the same time.

:point_right:t3: What if Asana was also a good tool for you after all?

If we worked together with my team at iDO, we would have told you from the get go: it is truly important as a CEO you get on board and use Asana. But it is never too late.

Hold tight, your life is about to change :hugs:

:one: Install the Asana Desktop app. No need to lose Asana within the gazillions tabs you have already opened.

:two: Disable email notifications from your profile settings. Your Asana Inbox is your new friend, this is where you’ll follow topics you are involved with.

:three: An Inbox is supposed to be empty often. An Inbox is not a todo list. Use the archive button and move on quickly.

:four: Go back in your profile settings, and also disable notifications for “New tasks added” within projects. You don’t need those.

:five: Remember when I said the Inbox was your new friend? Well, the My Tasks view is your 2nd new best friend. You’ll spend your day in My Tasks and will do your tasks in order, or delegate them.

:six: Get an assistant. I can guarantee you half of the stuff you do every day can be delegated. Our very first hire at iDO was actually an assistant, before a sales person. Best investment ever.

Adding to @Bastien_Siebman’s great advice: use :+1: Like to quickly let people know you’ve seen something and/or agree with their message or update, and use appreciations to acknowledge achievements and celebrate wins without having to type a message.

Wish those notification settings were the default. So many folks at my company don’t like Asana because of that initial experience with a flurry of notifications (either as new user or when template projects are made).

I have told Asana over and over again…

That’s right.
I made a similar mistake, so Asana is unpopular with many users in my company.

Recently, it seems that notification settings can be selected to some extent when inviting members, but is this a solution?
