We use a due date filter set to next 14 days (often with list view) as the default for projects where we need to be presented only with imminent tasks. However, every once in a while, task execution gets delayed a day or two - meaning that the task completely drops out of view. I therefore suggest that the ‘before today’ option be made into a checkbox next to the dropdown - so that no matter what due date filter may be selected, there is always the option to include tasks that are past due date.
