End Dates for Recurring Tasks

I agree this is needed. Weird Asana doesn’t have this feature already.

I have a task set to repeat weekly. I want to create a custom rule that ends the repeat after the date in the custom field “Event Date” has been reached. Is this doable? I am hitting a wall in the rule builder.

Why are we nearly 8 years on and this still hasn’t been implemented?

Just adding to the chorus: Would love to be able to set an end date for recurring tasks.

I onboarded summer interns to Asana. They have some daily tasks. I’d like to have this end with their internship, but we’ll do so manually.

+1 this is an essential feature. Does anyone at Asana have an update on whether this will happen or not?

Agreed! This is a major flaw and makes me far less likely to recommend Asana. I have started looking into systems that have this. My urgent issue is that I have a project that has a deadline in 2 months. I need to check a live document minimum of 2x/week until the application process is over. I don’t want to delete the task because I often use tasks from prior years to assure I have all of my todos in order for the current year. Please help make this happen asap!

It’s almost seven years and this feature is yet to be delivered!

I’d like to create a weekday-only daily recurring task that runs within a fixed time window and then ends automatically.

Example: Repeat daily on weekdays from January 5 through January 26, then stop.

Right now, daily recurrence appears to be indefinite. Is there a way to set an end date or number of occurrences?
