Emojis in Status Updates not showing in Status Update email

Briefly describe (1-2 sentences) the Bug you’re experiencing:
When using emojis in Status Updates they appear in the status update email as the emoji text e.g. :happy:

Steps to reproduce:
Add a status update using emojis
Ensure you are following the project and will receive the status update email
Review the email which will contain text tags for emojis e.g :wink:

Browser version:
Safari 12.1.1

I think emojis used anywhere are actually never shown in emails… bug
