Hi Asana & AI enthusiasts ![]()
Dash is now live for everyone. For most users, it will be the first door into agentic Asana, before they build an AI Teammate.
So the real question is: what do you ask it? Where are the best use-cases?
At i.DO, our team have been testing Dash since the beta in July. Here are the use cases we tried, rated by us, with what they cost.

A side effect left 40 invoice tasks with wrong dates. @Bastien_Siebman asked Dash to correct them. Done in 5 minutes, instead of a morning of manual edits.

@Filippo_Baj_iDO gave Dash a list of pending tasks. It worked through them and left a comment on each one.

The task you know exists but can’t name. The project someone mentioned once. This is where Dash replaces your search bar.

For me, the integrations were the biggest surprise of the beta. Dash reads your agenda, creates events, and connects your Asana work to your actual week.

“Summarise the rules in this project for a handover.” “Which custom fields are not used?” @Rebecca_Hassett shared a great post on using this to train new admins.

The results were good, often better than the old AI Chat. But the limits are still fuzzy: how many projects at once, how much context it really reads.

Useful, not always right. Dash once said a need could only be solved with AI, when a simple manual rule would do it. Keep your brain on.
Hand work to an AI Teammate ![]()

On paper, the big difference with the old AI Chat. In practice, Dash rarely proposed it, and we were never sure if we had to ask explicitly.
Not exactly there yet
“What should I work on today?” ![]()
![]()
The suggested question everyone tries first. @Cyril-iDO asked it from inside a task and got “No incomplete tasks are due today”. From My Tasks, a different answer. The page you ask from is the context.
“Is anything urgent in my Inbox?”
![]()
Asked from the Inbox, answered from My Tasks.
“List all the Audit sessions of this client”
![]()
Asked from inside a task. Dash replied: “Give me the links so I can list them…” ![]()
“Did that cost me a Request?” ![]()
Two conversations, two opposite answers. Don’t ask Dash about billing (vote for that product idea here).
Our tips for your first week
- Ask from the right page. Day questions from My Tasks, project questions from the project. Dash reads where you are.
- Start with a low-risk bulk action. That is where the “wow” happens, and most of it is free.
- Keep the tab open on long jobs. We noticed progress pausing when the tab was in the background.
- Give a thumbs up or down. The feedback buttons next to each answer go straight to the Dash product team.
