Had you already ruled out using a custom chart either via a projectās Dashboard or via Universal Reporting? You could then click on the chart to be taken automatically to an advanced search result of the data underlying the part of the chart you clicked.

It 's been four years and this feature seems easy to implement (if not, would be great to receive context) and provides more granularity for end users w.r.t. to different projects.

At risk is a tad dramatic and would be beneficial if we could change it to something else.

Any updates here? I have used these 4 verbs to describe projects that have not completed yet: Active, Snagged, On Hold, Cancelled. It would be nice to allow an editable āProject Statusā field to accommodate more appropriate project status/condition. I would like to have a small notes field to add commentary to any change of Project Status, to understand why someone made that change.
Hi Iād like more than the current four project status entries available to use. Is there an area where I can add more? Iād like, to add āNewā or āComing Soonā particularly so we can see whats coming down the pipeline.

Could we please add a feature that allows admins and/or users to customize the āProject Statusā labels?
Currently, Asana only allows you to label a project status as the default labels: On track, Off track, At risk, On hold, Completed. See below.

However, our industry doesnāt fit into these neat labels and we would prefer to change the names of these labels so they are more accurate representations of project tracking within our industry. The current version of Project Status is very is not a feature our company uses almost at all. If we could change the names of these labels and/or add additional ones ourselves, that would make this feature along with all the other ones associated with it much more relevant to our company.

Why hasnāt this change been made? There are a lot of people requesting custom status updates, going back a few years. Is it that it canāt be done?
Definitely would like to have this. We try to track additional statuses ā we have projects that get canceled, e.g., that we still want to keep in the system for reference. My boss also likes to have a separate category for things that have launched and are active. They donāt need active work, but moving them to Completed isnāt right because we still need to monitor them. And we have a Not Started category for projects that we know are coming up, but arenāt ready for work (so again, On Track / In Progress isnāt right).
Hope this gets added soon! It would help a lot with our overall project tracking. (For now Iāve added a separate field that shows our ārealā status but we also use the status update feature so we have to pick a choice from the existing options, which has caused confusion, since we donāt have a clean mapping between the 2 fields.)
Another vote for this feature. We use specific project statuses (Plan, Work in Progress, etc.) that indicates where the project is in its lifecycles. We do not want this status to appear on every task, task status is different. Customizable project statuses would be so incredibly helpful.
Iāll add another vote for this feature. The terms āat riskā and āoff trackā regularly disincentivize teams from broadcasting status accurately. The ability to tune the language of available status updates on a project, or even at the org level, would be a huge benefit.
It would be great if we could add more customization to the āSet Statusā button for an entire project. The only current options are āOff track, on track, on hold, and at riskā. Similar to how a filter has the ability to āadd optionā, it would be great if we could do the same for the āSet Statusā. For example, if a project has gone over its original due date, it would make more sense for project management to set the project as āLateā instead of āoff-trackā because the new due date can just continue to be pushed out. If anyone else sees this as value-add, please upvote this feature request so we can have it applied!
