Hi,
I’m having some trouble with custom project templates and adding certain tasks through the rules-function to multiple projects and I’m hoping someone can help out. It is quite hard to explain but I’ll try my best
So I have created a template (note that this is just a test for me to get the feel with Asana - and that the actual project will contain many more tasks under each section) for a product project. Each new product project will have certain tasks that we always need to complete. Therefore the product project is divided into sections, for example website announcements, social media announcements etc.
At the same time, we also have separate projects for the website, social media, etc. Because we add three to four new product projects each week, and for which tasks can be executed by different team members, I think it is very useful to add the tasks that are in the template under the website announcement section to the website project as well as under the product project – and ditto for the social media section. I have set up rules for this, so that every time the template is used for a new product project, the tasks for the certain sections will automatically appear in the new product project as well as in the website project and social media project.
Only the problem is, that when I create a new product project with the custom template I created, the template tasks will show up as well under the website project and social media project.
I don’t want the tasks from the template project showing up under the website project or social media project, as this can be very confusing. I have tried marking one of the template project tasks as complete within the website project so that it won’t show up when filtering on incomplete tasks only, but then the task marked complete on the template, which can be very confusing when using the template for a new project.
All in all my question is: Is there any way to NOT have the template tasks show up under the website project and social media project?
