Custom ID field - allow prefix to be blank

The recently launched custom ID field is great, but having tried it out, it appears that the Prefix field cannot simply be left blank. :confused:

Hoping this will be possible soon, as I am sure some users may want to generate a number sequence without a prefix at all! :pray:

We would Like to use the ID field but it requires a Prefix? We just need it to be a number (that was what we used previous, but since the number we use is really the person’s ID. Is there a plan/way to allow the field to not have a prefix?
