The link retains that information with a “child” param https://app.asana. com/0/search?searched_[…]&child=1210028720009721
Why not. The issue though it that if you paste that search somewhere, it unfurls to show this task name. So every time I am like “damn it I pasted the task link”. I would expect “Search Result” to be displayed as a link instead of a task (even though the link points towards a search result
I can’t think of a situation where I’d want it to do a search AND open a specific task. For one because the linked task might not even be in the search results anymore by the time you visit the search results again.
I would guess this change is unintentional. @Forum-team can you reach out to the product team to check?
Hello @Bastien_Siebman ,
Just to confirm with you - when copying the search results, do you have the task open? Or is it the case that you are copying the list, and a random task adds to the search URL?
If it’s the former, that would be the expected behaviour.
As a workaround, would you try to copy the link directly from the browser?
The previously selected task opens again. I agree that it is the expected behaviour. What is a bit annoying is that the “name” of the link (the unfurled link) is replaced by the task name; which makes this link look like a task link, when in fact it is a search link.
