Copy Task Link Accessibility Gap

Right now, there is no keyboard-only way to copy a single task link in Asana. The documented method requires clicking the Copy task link icon in the task details pane.

Asana’s keyboard shortcuts cover navigation, editing, and task actions, but copying a task URL is not included in the shortcut list.

So at the moment, the product does not provide a keyboard-only method for this specific action. Copying the link requires using the mouse to click that icon.

This is a need for anyone with mobility constraints and is a general productivity enhancer when you primarily use your keyboard.

Hi @Kevin_Moritz! Thanks for raising this and welcome to the community.

I tested this and found that when a task is selected, you can use Ctrl+C on Windows or Command+C on Mac to copy the task link. This isn’t very obvious, so I’m sharing it here in case it helps others looking for a keyboard-only option.

You can check out the entire keyboard shortcut list by clicking “?” from your sidebar then select “Keyboard shortcut”

Yes and that works sometimes, but paste the link into a terminal and it just pastes the title in plain text, not the link.

This covers the same ground as what was discussed here.

That task has been outstanding since 2021, and doesn’t solve my problem. Just have them add a separate shortcut keystroke like ctrl + shift + c to copy the link only?
